The latest news from Tokyo Japan HQ is that with the Engineers at Tomei Powered R&D Dept. have been hard at work with various new products in the pipeline and the daily constant testing and designs on the engine Dyno is a daily routine here in Tokyo. This month we see a new range of Performance Valves designed and tested and now available for these engines

High Flow, Improved Durability, for Extreme & High Power Applications!!
Tuned engines require as much fuel mixture to enter the combustion chamber as possible. So a larger diameter design was selected to optimize flow rates. Due to the extremely high temperature conditions experienced in the combustion chamber during high power runs the durability of the valves were also addressed to improve resistance to high heat conditions. The TOMEI oversized valves were designed with the above factors and more so with the careful selection of materials to suit these conditions to the precision in the design and manufacturing processes to maximize the intake and exhaust flow rates will make your engine capable of big power when needed most.

TOMEI OVERSIZED VALVE FEATURES
HIGH FLOW DESIGN: 1mm OVERSIZED WAIST SHAPE. 1mm oversized valves were designed for increased flow efficiency on both the intake and exhaust side. The stem has a thinner design for maximizing air flow rate within the port with the reduced air flow resistance. This design with the materials used also allowed for a lighter product as well.

PRECISION DESIGN:  To maximize the potential of the valves purpose each factor was addressed during the design process from the surface of the valve head (umbrella section) & the Valve Seat, from Stem to Cotter are all optimized with precision for optimum operating & sealing capabilities when needed most during extreme conditions.

HIGH HEAT RESISTANCE:
IN: SUH35 MATERIAL:  The SUH35 material which is known for its high heat resistance properties are usually used for the exhaust side. We chose to use it for the Intake side to suit the demands of today’s users for big power applications and for increased life.

EX: INCONEL 751 MATERIAL:  Since the exhaust side can experience extreme exhaust gas temperatures of 1,000 degrees C (1,832 degrees F) during high power use the Inconel 751 material was no doubt the best option to choose to suit serious needs when every detail counts.

Hyper REV Magazine (marketing previews)

Below are two previews of the single page ads which Tomei Powered will be running in an upcoming issue of Hyper REV Magazine.  It’s anticipated that Tomei will focus on the soon to be released Evolution X line, use the image with the White Evolution X only.

There are a handful of surprises due out along with their regular product lines.  2009 will continue to define the company’s high level of excellence in performance quality and precision.


Our endless research & development begins with goals for setting new milestones and we are very persistent, eagerly challenging with repeated trial & errors to meet or surpass our strict goals.

We first produce the prototype product from our theories, calculation and experience and then evaluate its potential from extensive bench testing and in actual professional race environment testing. It is of course extremely rare to succeed with the 1st trial prototype, so each new prototype is then based on the results of the 1st prototype. We then persistently repeat that procedure until we achieve satisfactory results before we proceed with mass production. We at times destroy engines from our persistent testing runs and there are times with we cannot get satisfactory performance results so we continue with bench testing throughout the night and even through our weekends too. However the data results extracted from these lengthy hours are valuable assets to us for our future developments. The end result is a complete product which has passed all these enduring processes to bring our products and their cars performance.

STOCK ENGINES POTENTIAL

The stock engine design and characteristics goes through our extensive R&D process to find performance potentials and design flaws, weaknesses which is our standard process for developing new enhancements. Perfection takes time.

This is how we embrace the new engine design and start with:

Design, Prototype, Testing, Analysis Repeat

The results obtained from the analysis and test results from the stock engine from theory are collected and then plans are drawn up in both 2D and 3D for prototypes.

Then the new setup is put back on the Engine Dyno and live running tests.  Various prototype designs are always made to find more possible performance gains.

Prototypes are then made from the basis of the results from the initial R&D analysis.  Tests are continued further and if expectations are not met then it is not uncommon for us to make at least 10 different prototype designs in the hunt for perfection.

Our test engines sometimes do fail during our extensive testing from our ever persistent staff from pushing the limits both day and night. There is no overtime as we don’t consider this as work but our way of life.

This is the way we know that our followers can truly enjoy using our products for real results and not just for having a brand name product. This is TOMEI.

Pon Cams

Since it’s inception for the target of winning races, our continuing in-depth develops are the sole purpose for our customer satisfaction. The current test programs are nearing completion so we will make the best camshaft designs available soon.
